    SAUDI ARABIA : FOUR PEOPLE DIED IN CLASHES

    Four people died in clashes between Islamist militants and Saudi Security Forces, on Thursday in the city of Mecca and Jeddah. Saudi people were voting for the Municiapl election.

    LEBANON : ELECTION ON MAY 29

    New Prime Minister Najib Miqati has announced that the election will take place in May 29, just two days before the end of the legislatur' mandate.

    "If the honourable parliament does not approve, we will be forced to call the electoral bodies a month before May 29, that is April 29, in order to conduct elections on May 29," said the newly appointed Prime Minister.

    IRAQ : 69 DEATH BODIES FOUND

    Iraqi President Jalal Talabani was afraid that the 50 death bodies found in the Tigris river,near al-Suwaira, were those recently abducted,

    "More than 50 bodies have been brought out from the Tigris and we have the full names of those who were killed and those criminals who committed these crimes."

    "We will give you details in the coming days … terrorists committed crimes there. It is not true that there were no hostages. There were, but they were killed and they threw the bodies into the Tigris," said the Kurdish President.

    Meanwhile other 19 bodies were found in a Stadium close to the town of Haditha, northwest of the capital, the victims were Iraqi soldier executed on Wednesday.

    IRAQ : TWO US CONTRACTORS KILLED

    A car bomb targeted another car on the way to the airport on Thursday morning, killing two US security contractors. Other veihcles were dameged as well in the blast.

    The same road is well known to be extremely dangerous and is known also as "death road".

    IRAQ : ALLAWI SAFE AFTER ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT

    Former Iraqi Interim Prime Minister, Iyad Allawi has escaped a car bomb explosion in Baghdad. Two policemen died in the attack.

    "Thank God, the prime minister is well, but some policemen and members of his security team were killed," said Allawi's spokesman.

    PALESTINE : ABBAS BLAMES ISRAEL

    Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas accused Israel of inciting people against him and violating February's summit agreements.

    "Day and night, they are inciting against me in the Israeli media," said Abbas, adding that, "I am not the complaining type, but despite the instructions we have issued to halt incitement on our side, Israeli officials have not stopped inciting for a moment."

    IRAQ : SEVERAL PEOPLE INJURED

    Many people were injured in Iraq, due to another car bomb in the capital, exploded very close to a US convoy, reported as completely burnt, after the explosion. Earlier on Wednesday two Iraqis were killed by another car bomb.

    PALESTINE : FATAH PARTY WANT THE ELECTION AS SCHEDULED

    Fatah deputies voted to have the legislative election on July 17.

    "Most Fatah deputies are in favour of holding the elections on the planned date, 17 July, so for that to happen, the electoral law must be adopted as quickly as possible," a Fatah deputy said.

    LEBANON : MIKATI FORMS A NEW CABINET

    Najib Miqati, Lebanese Prime Minister, has formed a new cabinet government.
    He said that all the members of this cabinet will not be candidates in the forthcoming election.

    "It is a cabinet of non-candidates", he told the press underlining that importance of the election.

    "Legislative elections is one of the prime goals of my government," he added.

    PALESTINE : ISRAEL TO DELAY PULLOUT

    Israeli forces will delay the pullback from the occupied territories in August instead of July 20. This is what Ariel Sharon decided on religious grounds,

    "We need to do everything to make the evacuation easier and to allow settlers to overcome the crisis of disengagement. These, effectively, are to be difficult days in the history of the Jewish people," he said.

    Gunbatlles, car bombs and attacks in Iraq made at least 10 dead and 25 wounded.
    A car bomb in the Adhamiya district killed 5 people,

    "The attack was carried out by a suicide bomber driving a green-coloured Kia minibus", said an official.

    ISRAEL :SHARON TO DELAY WITHDRAWAL

    Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said there is a possibility of delayng the withdrawal, previously scheduled for June 20, due to religious reasons.

    Orthodox Jews are in fact used to observe a three-week period to mourn the destruction of the biblical temples in Jerusalem, that comes just around the previously scheduled withdrawal. For this reason the pull back could be delayed untill August.

    LEBANON : Flaihan Died In A Paris Hospital

    Basil Flaihan, a Legislator was wounded by the an explosion on February 14, when Rafik al-Hariri died immediately. He died today in a Paris Hospital, bringing the number of killed people at 22. In that occasion, more than 100 others were wounded.

    The task force of the Iraqi soldier did fond any hostages in the town of al-Madain.

    "The whole city is under control. We've secured houses where people said there were hostages. We could not find any. I don't think we'll find any," said an official.

    PALESTINE : ABBAS TO HOLD ELECTION ON SCHEDULE

    Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas announced that his will is to hold the parliamentary election as scheduled, on July 17. Meanwhile Hamas said that a truce with Israel could be considered only in the case that the ballot will be delay.

    Hamas is afraid that the Fatah party is trying to postpone the vote in order to gain more popular follow, recently lost.

    LEBANON : THE NEW GOVERNMENT START

    Newly appointed Lebanon's Prime Minister Najib Mikati has started the talks for the formation of the new government. Mikati had a meeting with the former Prime Minster, Omar Karami, who resignated from his job on April 14.

    Lebanon's President Emile Lahud speaking to a European Union delegation about the forthcoming election, said that they will be free and democratic,

    "The forthcoming parliamentary elections will be an occasion through which the Lebanese will express their political choices in a free, honest and democratic atmosphere," he said.
