PALESTINE : ELECTIONS POSTPONEDPalestinian President Mahmoud Abbas decided to postpone the legislative elections previously scheduled for July 17. Abbas said to the press that the new date will be announced soon.
Hamas said in a statement that the decision of postponing the election was unilateral, not democratic,
"Abbas's postponement decision was unilateral. He did not consult with Palestinian movements,""This decision shows that the Palestinian Authority is not serious about its commitments. It risks causing chaos and giving a negative impression about the Palestinian nation because it obeys when the Americans and Israel multiply their calls for an electoral postponement,"
