    F-16s For Sale!

    India must have felt a bit menaced by the decision made by the US government to sell a group of F-16 Fighting Falcon jets to Pakistan.

    India and Pakistan are fighting for the possession of the Kashmir region. America stopped the weapon market in these two countries during the 90's when they were both experimenting nuclear weapons.

    UN Wants Sunni To Partecipate In The Iraqi Government

    Sheikh Harith al-Dhari is the president of the Muslim association that boicotted the January 30 election in Iraq. He met with Ashraf Qazi, who represents Kofi Annan and was asked to be involved in the country's political life.

    Qazi "stressed the importance of ensuring that all components of Iraqi society are adequately represented in the constitution-making process," and "underlined the need for all Iraqi political forces in the writing of the constitution, which will be put to vote in a public referendum towards the end of the year."

    Lebanon's Defence Forces Are Not Enough

    Lebanon's Defence Minister announced that the Syria's complete withdrawal from the country could leave a void in the defence system, due to a lack of soldiers in the Lebanon's army.

    Four US Soldiers Killed in Afghanistan

    According to the US military four American soldiers were killed in a mine blast in the Afghan province of Logar.

    "Four US troops were killed in action but we have no indication that this was a new mine or an IED (improvised explosive device)," said a US military spokesman.

    KRYGYZ : The Opposition Is In Power
    After yesterday's revolt against the authorities, the people seized important governamental buildings and took control over the country. The Parliament declared the people as the new president and prime minister, they will now have time untill Friday to form a new cabinet.

    IRAQ : Car Bomb Kills 11

    Eleven Iraqi special police commandos were killed and 25 people wounded when a car bomb exploded at a checkpoint in Ramadi on Thursday evening, according to the US military. There where nine Iraqi security forces members, two US soldiers and three civilians among the wounded.

    AFGHANISTAN- Two Children Accidentally Killed By US Troops

    About 18,000 US soldiers are hunting down Talibans in Afghanistan, they were trying to capture a suspected Taliban fighter named Raz Muhammad in a village in southeastern Paktika province on Tuesday. A US military statement explains,

    "Coalition troops were fired on by Raz Muhammad and other Taliban forces when they attempted to capture Muhammad."

    The American counter-fire accidentally killed an Afghan women and two children, along with Muhammad and two other fighters.
    Another children was wounded but did not die.

    "During the ensuing fire-fight, Muhammad and two other enemy insurgents were killed. An Afghan woman and two children also died."

    KRYGYZ : 1000 Protesters Stormed The Presidential Palace

    Bishkek- About 1000 protesters stormed the presidential compound after clashes with the police in front of the government palace, entered in the building and led the defence minister out, wounding him. People were chanting against the president Akayev, accused of fraud in this year's parliamentary vote.

    IRAQ : 85 Insurgents Killed By Iraqi And US Forces

    According to the Iraqi military, 85 rebels were killed when an anti-US base in the north of Iraq was captured by the coalition forces. US helicopters helped the ground Iraqi troops in this blitz. Seven Iraqi soldiers died and six were wounded, while no US soldiers were injured. The number of insurgents died it is not confirmed by the US military.

    Hossein Mousavian, an Iranian negotiator, was representing his country in a meeting with France, G.B and Germany about Theran nuclear power plan.

    Europe is offering Iran economic, politic and technological incentives to stop the nuclear project.

    Mousavian insisted that Theran has the right to decide about its own internal development.

    ALGIERS : ARAB LEADERS' MEETING: SYRIA PROMISES A COMPLETE PULLOUT FOR APRIL

    Syrian leader Assad promised to Kofi Annan that His country will be out of Lebanon on April, just in time to receive the US ambassador at the beggining of the month.

    Syria has already redeployed its soldier out of Lebanon. along with its agents, under international pressure. Arab leaders were also discussing about the major issues of the Middle East.

    According to the local police, a bomb exploded in a shopping mall of a predominant christian area in the north of Beirut killing three people and wounding four.

    IRAQ : MANY DEAD IN A GUNBATTLE IN BAGHDAD/IRAQI SOLDIERS HELPED BY US TROOPS CONQUERED AN INSURGENTS CAMP

    GUNBATTLE IN BAGHDAD-
    According to Defense and Interior Ministry officials, a gunbattle took place between shopkeepers and a group of fighters in which three armed men were killed, others arrested and six people injured, close to the al-Sadr Shia mosque on Wednesday in Baghdad's al-Dura district.

    INSURGENTS CAMP TOOK OVER-
    At least seven Iraqi commandos died and six were wounded during a raid in Samarra, near lake Tartar at 11am (0800 GMT). Many anti-US fighters killed. Iraqi forces took over a insurgents camp.

    IRAQ : PARLIAMENT FIRST ISSUE; CREATING A NEW GOVERNMENT

    The Kurdish and the Shia Muslim groups are representing the two-thirds of the new Iraqi parliament by themselves. They are now expected to form a new government on the first parliamentary effective reunion scheduled for Saturday.

    The formation of the new cabinet is crucial for Iraq's future stability and the Grand Ayatollah al-Sistani recently called for a quick solution to the problem.

    WEST BANK : ISRAELI ARMY WITHDRAWAL FROM THE TOWN OF TULKAM

    According with the agreement signed betweem Palestine and Israel a month ago, the town of Tulkam was left by the Israeli soldiers to the Palestinian police on Monday at 2000, local time (1800 GMT). A group of policemen started patrolling the town and the celebration included drivers honking their horns, an Israeli soldier complimenting a Palestinian one "Mabruk", (Arabic for congratulations) and troops shooting in the air.

    ALGERI : ARAB LEADERS SUMMIT

    14 Arab leaders will have a two-day long meeting to discuss a 17 point agenda that includes the peace plan between Israel and Palestine.

    Jordan's King Abd Allah II, Yemeni President Ali Abd Allah Salih and Lebanese Head of State, Emile Lahud will not be present at the conference.

    Kofi Annan, Michel Barnier (French foreign Minister), Javier Solana (European Union's foreign policy chief) and Spanish Prime Minister Zapatero will take part at the meeting.

    24 INSURGENTS KILLED IN BAGHDAD

    According to the US military 24 insurgents were killed on Sunday when they attempted to attack coalition forces. Other insurgents were instead succesful in killing at least seven people in three different spot of the capital.

    The US soldier killed in action in the al-Anbar province was part of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force. As reported by the military statement, he died on Sunday, as usual there are no further details available due to the potential danger implied in spreading strategical information.

    Iraqi Shia Muslims claim that Jordan is not trying to stop fighters entering in Iraq. Al-Zarqawi has been sentenced to death for the second time by a Jordanian court, while al-Quaida claimed responsibility for the bomb that killed an anti-corruption official in Mosul.
