RUMSFELD : AL_JAZEERA IS A PART OF THE EVIL EMPIREUS Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld, gave a speech in Singapore on Saturday in which he described al-Jazeera as a part of the "evil empire",
"If anyone lived in the Middle East and watched a network like the Aljazeera day after day after day, even if he was an American, he would start waking up and asking what's wrong," said Rumsfeld.
He was implying
a connection between beheading hostages and showing the scene on TV.
Jihad Ballout, an al-Jazeera spokesman, said that his TV has never shown anyone's beheading.

IRAQ : SIXTEEN PEOPLE KILLED BY THREE BOMBSBaquba and Kirkuk were rocked by three explosions which killed at least sixteen people inclusing a municipal council leader, a child and a bodyguard of an Iraqi leader.
"I was sitting inside my restaurant when about six cars parked nearby and their passengers came inside and ordered food... ...Seconds later, I heard a big explosion and the restaurant was turned into twisted wreckage and rubble. Blood and pieces of flesh were everywhere,"
said an eye witness in a Kirkuk restaurant.

LEBANON : ANTI SYRIAN JOURNALIST KILLED The anti-Syrian journalist, Samir Qaseer of the An-Nahar newspaper, was killed by a car bomb placed in his car in a residential area of Beirut. Also a women who was in the car with Qaseer has been wounded.

AFGHANISTAN : SIXTEEN KILLED IN MOSQUE BLASTThe Mullah Abdul Fayaz Mosque in Kandahar was rocked by a blast wich killed at least sixteen people and wounded 36 on Wednesday.
An eye witness, Sohaib Safi of AFP said that the bomber was wearing a police uniform and added,
"There were some 50 to 60 people inside the mosque when the explosion occurred. This was a very big explosion, and there is blood everywhere in the mosque and outside it. Human limbs are scattered all over the mosque compound."

IRAQ : FOUR ITALIANS DIED IN A HELICOPTER CRASHAccording to the Italian military, an AB 412 helicopter crashed on the ground in Nasiriya with four Italians soldiers on board on Tuesday. The troops were coming back from the Kuwaiti international airport.
"We have started examining the wreckage," and "For the time being, there are no hypotheses."
The spokesman for the Italian government, Lieutenant-Colonel Fabio Mattiassi, told the press.

PALESTINE : TWO CIVILLIANS WOUNDED BY A DRONETwo Palestinian women were wounded by three missiles launched by a flying drone in the Jabalya refugee camp east of Gaza City.
According to a Israeli military source, the drone was meant to stop a group of Palestinian fighters ready for firing missiles toward Israel,
"A terrorist cell was identified preparing to launch a mortar attack," and "The air force targeted the launchers, and at least two were hit."
The drone, however, missed its target and hit the two women that are now in the hopsital in good condition.

IRAQ : 20 KILLED AND 35 WOUNDED IN HILLA BLAST20 Iraqis were killed and 35 wounded by two suicide bombers in the southern city of Hilla. A recruitment center for police forces was first targeted, then another bomber blew himself up among a crowd of policemen protesting to get higher wages.
