    Six US soldier died in two separate incidents in Baghdad.

    The US army released a statement on Tuesday claiming: "A Task Force Baghdad Soldier died of wounds at approximately 7pm (1600 GMT) on 24 January. The soldier sustained the injuries when a patrol was attacked with an improvised explosive device in western Baghdad."

    Five 1st infantry division soldiers were killed and two others wounded in an accident close to Khan Bani Saad, north of Baghdad, apparently one of the wounded soldiers is in danger of life.

    So far 296 United States soldiers were wounded in non-combat incidents, according to the Pentagon.
