    With 95% of the votes counted, Fatah candidate Mahmud abbas won the Palestinian presidential elections yesterday.

    He gained 67.7 % of the West Bank's votes and 65% of the Gaza Strip's.

    Mustafa al-Barghuthi won 21% of the West Bank's votes and 18% of the Gaza Strip's.

    Mahumud Abbas declared himself the winner early this morning and immediatly dedicated his victory to Yasir Arafat, died on November 11 of last year.
