Syria's expatriate affairs minister Buthaina Shaban expressed his worries about a certain political pressure received from the United States.
"What has happened in Lebanon is an inseparable part of the plan to restructure the Middle East. This causes real worries to the people of this region," he said.
In his trip over Europe the American president is, in fact, convincing every U.E. politician to join the "plot" against Syria's policy in Lebanon.
Bush is calling Syria an "oppressive neighbourhood" to Lebanon, moreover he is calling for a pull-back of the Syrian troops in that country.
During the "Gulf War" in 1991 about 15,000 soldiers from Damascus occupied Lebanon and they still are more or less all there.
European Foreign Ministers said they were all going to endorse G.W. Bush in his advice to Damascus, "End its occupation".
Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker said on Tuesday that the UN wants the ONU resolution number 1559 to be effective soon (the resolution calls for the withdrawal of the Syrian army from Lebanon) reading this text,
"We spoke about the Middle East and especially Lebanon ... to vigorously condemn against the attack which claimed the life of former prime minister [Rafiq al-Hariri], to demand respect for the [UN] Security Council resolution and its immediate application."
While in England talks about the "lawless war" perpetrated against Saddam Hussein are becoming louder and Ibrahim al-Jaafari (the leader of Dawa islamist Party) is going to be Prime Minister of Iraq, Bush is heading toward Germany right now, to talk with the Canchellor Gerhard Schroeder and they said to have a good work relationship, maybe the Syrian Minister is right to be worried?
