UZBEK : PROTESTERS CLASHED WITH POLICE, 9 KILLED 34 WOUNDEDAcoording to ITAR-Tass news agency, violent clashes erupted in the southeastern city of Andijan (Uzbekistan) as a group of protesters were marching to stop the trial of 23 Muslim businessmen, charged with anti-constitutional activity.
This group is also accused of collaborating with the Akramia religious group and to be in someway linked with the outlawed Islamic party Hizb-ut-Tahrir.
9 people were killed and 34 wounded, a man described as a bomber was killed in front of the Israeli Embassy, groups of people were sorrounding police officials and, in Andijan, the crowd freed 23 Muslim businessmen.
